Climbing Your Hoosier Family Tree
Issue #6, July 2000

Hello to all Hoosier genealogists! This issue has a focus that relates to Independence Day and our ancestors...religious freedom. If we can find out a little about our ancestors in regards to their religious affiliations, we can fill in some more blanks in our files. Many early ministers/preachers also had to work a regular job during the week...farmer/minister was not an unusual career. If you've been fortunate enough to find out what religious affiliation your Indiana ancestors were, what's your next step? This issue will give you sources to find out about the church locations, religious practices, and what records the churches maintain today. Happy ancestor hunting!
