Here you will find a list of books which contain basic reference and
how-to information on a variety of metaphysical topics. This includes
various oracular tools like Runes, Tarot Cards, etc.
Love Is In The Earth: A Kaleidocsope of Crystals by A. Melody
THE REFERENCE on the metaphysical properties of stones, gems, rocks and crystals. You'll refer to this book again and again. Beautifully written and very comprehensive.
Uma Silbey brilliantly outlines crystals, how they work, how to use them, how to meditate with them, how to heal, how to program, etc. All presented in a very readable, easy-to-follow format.
The Way of Herbs by Michael Tierra, C.A. N.D.
A solid reference to the properties and uses of herbs, as well as a good introduction to the theories and applications of herbalism.
Once I discovered the Psycards, I never even looked back at my Tarot decks. This delightful divinatory deck is based upon the concept of archetypes as outlined by Carl G. Jung. You can also order my book "Psycards: A New Age Alternative To Tarot",by Catt Foy, and read excerpts from it on my Psycards page.
This was my first Feng Shui book; I found it to be very useful and practical. I had a great time learning to use the advice contained herein and I still refer to it on a regular basis.
Tarot For Yourself by Mary K. Greer
I used this book extensively for my personal explorations, and as a reference when I was writing "Psycards..."
Runes by Ralph Blum
The book that started it all - Ralph Blum's excellent package of rune stones, interpretation book and rune pouch. I used mine for years until I made a set of my own personal runes.
Note: I am currently taking orders for "Rune Stones and Their Interpretations" by Catt Foy, a reference booklet. Retail price: $3.95. Wholesale orders also available. Please order through the e-mail below.
I've dog-eared at least two copies of this book in past decade. This is absolutely my favorite interpretation of the I-Ching.
This section wouldn't be complete without a good set of Tarot cards. This was my first deck of Tarot and I learned to read cards (which I've been doing professionally since 1978) from reading Stuart Kaplan's book. Here they are, boxed together.
Here is my all-time favorite oracle. I use these cards almost daily. Not only are they very accurate, but they are also an excellent tool for understanding Native American shamanic thought. A true delight to the spirit!
