PhysCal Loop-the-Loop Video Project, 1998-1999

This was my first major project in PhysCal this year. My lab partner, Maritza Hobson, and I took twelve video clips of a ball dropped from different heights along a loop-the-loop track. When we were finished, we proved that the minimum height needed for the ball to keep contact with the track at all times along the loop was roughly the same two-and-a-half times the radius of the loop (5/2 R) given to us by the Law of Conservation of Energy. How did we do this?
