JANUARY 17, 1999
As of Jan. 16, I was told by the North Conway Theatre that they were supposed to pull the trailer for Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace from their films.   Lucky for me they left it on for one more night and I got to see it one last time!   As always, when I see that trailer I'm in total awe, silence and then I break out clapping at the end yelling, "Yeah!"  I asked the theatre if they're getting any new trailers at the end of the month as rumoured, and they told me they expect something in the next few weeks.  We'll just have to wait and see if there is any truth to that rumour or not. Expect something new in the next month for sure!

The same night that I saw A Bug's Life and the SW:EP1 trailer for the last time, I also saw the third best trailer I ever saw in the last 365 days............no, it wasn't Austin Powers 2: The Spy WHo Shagged Me (that's the second best I saw), the third best was Mathew Broderick in....Inspecter Gadget! It was awesome, baby!  His arms stretched out..he had the gadget mobile, he has to say cool things like, "Go, go, gadget (whatever)!"  And we see the origin of Gadget, him training in using his abilities and...we see the face of Dr. Claw!  He's a skinny guy with a actual claw for his left hand.  Not very menacing at all.  I was a total fan when I was a kid, getting out of high school, rushing home and turning on Inspecter Gadget (and G.I. Joe and Transformers)!  The film will be directed by David Kellogg, written by Jeff Berry and Kerry Ehrin; Rupert Everett as Dr. Claw, Michelle Trachtenberg as Penny, Dabney Coleman as Chief Quimby and Fred Williamson as the Gadget Mobile (I guess he's gonna talk like K.I.T.T.).  It had a budget of 98 million; It is being made by Disney and Caravan Pictures with SFX by Dreamquest.  (From what I saw, they looked really cool!)  The release date is set for sometime in July unless they change it.  I saw something about February maybe?  No confirmations at this time.  This year looks good for films so far!   It can't get much better than this, can it?
