Thank you for stopping by, or for just being curious as to what I have to say.
I am very proud to be a member of Fundamental Baptist Web Rings. Those of us in the Fundamental Baptist Web Rings have a lot in common: the Lord Jesus Christ, the local, New Testament Church, and the King James Bible, to name a few of the major doctrines in which we believe. Yes, we have differences. But for the most part, we all agree on the basics; and most of us are still learning and growing (some think they have "arrived").
The world already looks at us as being a bunch of idiots; in some cases, a cult. That's fine. Let the heathen rage (Psalm 2:1). We also realize that ". . .the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." I Corinthians 1:18. Some will not be convinced though one rose from the dead!
But on behalf of those who ARE sincerely searching, and considering whether or not the fundamental Baptist position is the way they should go, and if they should believe the doctrines in which we believe (which includes the King James Bible), let us not lose them to the critic's circle because of our poor spelling and "butchering of the King's English!"
Occasionally, I enjoy looking through the sites in a Web Ring, and those waiting to be accepted in the "Queue." I have been somewhat disturbed at the misuse of common grammar, spelling, and in a webmaster's carelessness in trying to represent the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords!
I would challenge those of you who put together these web sites to look over your work more carefully, and have a second party "critique" your work. This is especially true if your site represents a local, New Testament, independent Baptist Church. Even if it doesn't, your site is an advertisement which will either attract or repel a visitor. The heathen have many first class, professional looking sites which promote worldliness, perversion, and filth. I don't want the Devil's crowd to outdo God's people. Some of the Baptist sites I have visited are repulsive, a reproach to Christ, and would give me a critical attitude toward what and Who you are trying to represent.
Let's clean up our act. Since the beginning of The Pen Pal Newsletter (1986-1999), I have always challenged my readers to be critical of my spelling and grammar. I welcome rebuke and correction. DO YOU? Let's make our web sites first class. Not all of us can be professional webmasters (especially me), but we can capitalize "bible," and other obvious errors which is basic for anyone who has gone to grammar school.
God bless; and thanks for your time.
