We are now able to furnish a FULL CRIMINAL JUSTICE MINISTRY to Inmates, their Families, and the Victims of Crime. We also provide Chaplaincy Service to the Law Enforcement Officers in the Independence Baptist Association. We also furnish after-care for the inmates.
There is a GREAT NEED for men and women who are willing to go into institutions and tell the inmates how they can know for sure that if they died they would go to HEAVEN. But they don't need to stop there. They need to go on and give AN INVITATION for them to be saved. Also needed are people to go into the Inmates homes and into the Crime Victim's homes and assist them in any area of need.
We also NEED CHURCHES that will send these men and women into these institutions and pay their expenses. The reason most churches are not involved in Jail/Prison Ministry is simply because it has never crossed their mind. Others, because they don't want to get to close to inmates. They feel like they had an oppertunity to attend church before they were locked up.
GOD HELP US ALL THAT HAVE THIS ATTITUDE. After all, we were all in times past the children of wrath. Eph. 2:3,
Those behind bars need JESUS too.
Our Chaplain is employed by the Independence Baptist Association, located in Northeast Arkansas. He assists in training other chaplains and Jail Ministers in other locations. People are needed to serve the Inmates, The Inmates Families and the Crime Victims THORUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
If we only had ONE CHURCH in each town where there is a COUNTY JAIL, that would get involved in this GREAT WORK we would not only have enough Jail Ministers, but we would have someone leading the inmates family to Christ. We would have men and women working with the inmate after he/she is released. And we would have people working with the crime victims.
There are many, many churches in each town that has a county jail, BUT only ONE CHURCH is needed THAT IS DEDICATED TO
SERVE. Think about it CHURCH!
Here is what happens. The inmate gets saved while in jail. He grows a little each week, as the chaplain is there teaching. THEN he gets released, and thrown right back into the same mess that he was in before he was arrested.
CHURCH, we are not asking, WE ARE PLEADING WITH YOU TO STOP LOOKING DOWN YOUR NOSE AT THESE PEOPLE AND HELP THEM FIND JESUS. THERE IS NO OTHER ANSWER. He is the only hope we have in cutting down on crime. Jails and prisons don't work. That should be obvious to everyone. After all, we have ten times as many jails and prisons as we did twenty years ago. If that was the answer, we wouldn't have needed to build more, we could have been closing some down.
