A true friend sticks closer than a brother 
One you can count on when there is no other. 
He is considerate, loving, just, and kind 
One you can tell what is on your mind.  

A true friend has your best interest at heart,  
But from the way of the truth he will not depart.  
He will be with you from start to finish  
And his love for you will not diminish.  

He wants you to walk in the way of the truth,  
And serve Jehovah now in the days of your youth; True Friends can only be found in Jehovah's Organization;  
All the other people are bad association.  

My friend when I think of you,  
I think of the love of David and Jonathan too;  
A love that lasted through thick and thin,  
In fact it lasted clear down to the end.  

Do you have a friend like this?  
If they're not in the truth then they don't exist!  
My friend, my friend, keep the way  
That Jehovah has shown to you this very day.  

If his laws you keep and command you heed,  
You will never be in want or need  
For all his people he will provide  
As long as they keep loyal on his side  

Jehovah has promised life without end  
Only to those who would be his friend.  
So please, my brother serve this god  
And walk the way Christ Jesus trod.  

For if you do with all your heart  
We'll have a love that will never part,  
I love you my brother, on that you can depend.  
And as long as you serve Jehovah it will never end.  

It is only right, that these are the things I say  
Because you and I are part of the Way.  
So if you and I are truly friends,  
Our service to Jehovah will never end.  

Since this old system is about to depart,  
Love Jehovah with all your heart.  
Then when he brings this old world to an end  
You and I will be counted as Jehovah's friend.
