Coffee Break

I have some friends that like to go
Door to door in rain or snow.
Hot or cold, they don't mind
They're serving Jehovah, and counting time.

Usually they're bright, sharp and quick
To keep this up, they have a trick.
When emotions drain, and feet get cold
They head for a place where coffee's sold.

This pungent brew has amazing powers
That would astonish Jesus at his greatest hours.
One place in particular we like to go
Also sells small cakes made of dough.

This fills our tummy's and warms our hearts
Keeping us at our teaching arts.
Tired or cold, we never miss --
Surely Jehovah allows for this.

Though not divinely or scripturally supported
This break is necessary, as reported.
Middle-morning, or afternoon
Sometimes both, but never too soon.

Jehovah, we know lives are at stake
But please allow for the coffee break.
You'd think from this rhyme that coffee's first
Actually the situation could be worse.

We could quit when we are tired
And leave the service when not inspired.
But when we weaken and have to stop
We head straight for that coffee shop.

I often wonder if the apostle Paul
Had a Dunkin Doughnuts near his Kingdom Hall!
