This is an architectural drawing of an "ideal" cathedral in the Gothic style. It resembles many of the great cathedrals which were constructed during this era.

Ecclesiastical coins are those coins which were minted under the authority of an Archbishop or Bishop. During this era, these men were incredibly powerful, and while they did not command armies, they were thought to hold the very souls of their subjects in their hands. One of the biggest issues during this era was in determining who had the power to appoint these very powerful men to this office - the Pope or the King. This was known as the "investiture" problem. The American idea of the separation of Church and State has its roots deeply embedded in this issue. The coins of these Archbishops and Bishops are quite similar to those of other Feudal rulers of the era.
