One major disadvantage of the PX-1 is that it doesn't feature a foot switch to change from patch-to-patch (yeah, I hope they do a Rack Mounted Version -Chris), and the small buttons cannot be easily pressed in a darker environment or when you're in a hurry. So if you would like to change to another patch during verse/chorus/solo/whatever, you would have to program 2 or more patches and the 20 patches limit would soon be filled up! I found out a method where you can avoid using all the 20 patches. However, you have to make compromises concerning the sound. Here's a small hint for all of you who need, for example, a CHORUS effect during the solo and none during the rest of the song. I'll try to explain it using the TAB to the song "Hedonism" by Skunk Anasie. The TAB was obtained through the On-Line Guitar Archive (yeah check it out - I tabbed out a Deep Purple tune - Chris). All my comments start with *** so don't mix them up with Dave Caren's!

*** Here serious problems start up because the overdrive in the original is a little higher than the one achieved before. You could either turn up your guitar's volume or push the distortion on/off pedal connected to an amp with the distortion set to a level where it sounds more like the original as if the PX-1 did all the overdriving alone. Anyway, you have to turn off the MOD effect (PAN) for the chorus using the (|) button!

*** In order to achieve Wah-FX push the big + button quickly in order to switch on the AWAH effect in the MOD section. If you decide to use AWAH1, you just have to push once to produce a sound quite different to the sound used in the verse. And hey presto: one patch saved! The rest of the song is included so you can play it until the end. You could also have your roadie/girlfriend/singer push the buttons for you but make sure he knows when and he's not drunk or not paying attention.
