Food for Thought from Christian Country CONTACT

"PEACE, PEACE - BUT THERE IS NO PEACE . . ."

There's trouble afoot in the Middle East, folks, and the Bible tells us that's where it's all going to begin - or end. You'd sometimes wonder how serious it all is, judging from the lack of headline news atttention being given over here ;-) ... but take Hussein's sabre-rattling together with quotes from Egypt's Yassar Arafat, and they leave an unpleasant spectre in the mind's eye - especially for students of the Bible.

If you REALLY like to fret, read about the street fighting in Jerusalem - "the worst since the 1967 war" according to Israel Radio. Israel's Prime Minister is refusing to be intimidated, but where is the stand of the rest of the world???

Pointing fingers at non-oil-producing Israel, that's where!

After all, we can't jeopardize our oil supply now, can we?!

People, those "in the know" say IRAN is expected to join in shortly ...

Interesting question: If the western world is against Israel in this, and Iran decides to side with Syria, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority against Israel ...WOULDN'T THAT PUT BILL CLINTON ON THE SAME SIDE AS SADDAM HUSSEIN????????

The handwriting is on the wall.

THINK ABOUT IT!

Know what the handwriting on the wall was in its English translation?

"You have been tried in the scales and found wanting."

Scary thought, isn't it? "Found wanting" in spiritual growth, on Judgment Day, and cast into the outer darkness . . . forever! ... and don't be fooled into thinking Judgment Day is eons away. It isn't.
"Is Hell real?" Read your Bible - OR your newspapers!!

Thought for today:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.Mt 7:21

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and DO not the things which I say? Lu 6:46

When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are..." Lu 13:25
