The Churchwell Institute of Martial Arts is a school of martial science that embraces many different styles, and focuses on the individual practioner instead of groups or classes. It is believed that no two students will have the same needs from martial arts. The Churchwell Institute of Martial Arts (CIMA) strives to identify the specific strenghs and weaknesses of each student and then build on the strenghs while overcoming the weaknesses. The Churchwell Institute of Martial Arts was founded by Sensei Don Churchwell in 1991. He has studied several styles of martial arts including Tiger Claw Kung Fu, Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi(bri), Tai Chi(src), Wing Chun, some Jeet Kune Do, Judo, Hapkido, Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Sticky Hands Kung Fu,and Aiki-Jujitsu. He also holds black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo GoShinJitsu, JuJitsu, and Aikido which are the essential basis of this demanding curriculum. His studio has aided in the training of law enforcement personnel, prision guards, private and public security guards and personnel, military personnel, hand to hand combat retreats, self defense, and survival seminars. This school tries to combine all three essences of the human existence (the mind, the body, and the spirit) into oneness. Our pledge is to help those in need where possible.
