December 28, 2006: Watch Bat Masterson and John Hart on the Westerns channel! The Westerns channel is going to start broadcasting the old t.v. series "Bat Masterson" in January, beginning with a marathon of the first 23 episodes on January 7th, starting at midnight(Eastern time). John was in at least 3 episodes of "Bat Masterson" although none were in the first 23 episodes. Westerns will then broadcast Bat, twice a day, Monday through Friday, from 4 to 5 p.m. (Central time). It looks like Westerns will also broadcast some of the episodes at various times, probably as filler between movies. John may be in additional episodes that I don't know about. I'll add the air dates for John's known episodes as they are scheduled.

March 13, 2006: Myron Healey Died: Myron Healey died on December 21, 2005 but I could not find any details until I received the March-April, 2006 issue of "Western Clippings" by Boyd Magers, today. According to "Westerns Clippings", Myron died of natural causes in the hospital near his home in Simi Valley, CA. Myron, age 82, had suffered a broken hip last Fall and complications set in and he was never able to recover. One of those "great" bad guys, who had a heart of gold in real life. Myron received a Golden Boot Award in 2000. Myron appeared in 6 episodes of The Lone Ranger with Clayton Moore and also appeared in two films with Clayton, in "Kansas Pacific" (1953) and in "Montana Teritory" (1952). Myron appeared in another Lone Ranger episode with John Hart as the Lone Ranger. "Western Clippings" has a nice biography on Myron in their latest issue, # 70. Yes, indeed, we need the help of Clayton Moore and Lone Ranger fans across the country, to help get a U.S. postage stamp with Clayton's image on it. It can't happen before 2009 but it takes 3 to 4 years of work to get the U.S. Postal Service convinced that Clayton is deserving of this unique honor. Dawn Moore is stepping up her campaign and this is the public announcement. Please send your letters to the address given on the web page and be sure to invite your family and friends to write letters too: "Lets get Clayton Moore on a U.S. postage stamp!" You can either open up to read or save Dawn's letter to a file to read later, to give you some ideas on how to write your letter.

February 18, 2006: Radar Men from the Moon! I stumbled upon a Google web site where you can watch the first chaper of the old Republic serial "Radar Men from the Moon". Clayton appears as a bad guy named Graber in Chapter 1, "Moon Rocket". It's a bit blurry but if you've wondered what this serial is about, this is a good way to see the first chapter of this twelve chapter serial. Watch it here: "Radar Men from the Moon, Chapter 1" **UPDATE**2/22/2006: Thanks to Jeff Wilson for letting me know that at this time, you can watch all 12 chapters of Radar Men from the Moon at the Like Television web site, for free. I'd suggest that you have a cable modem or similar high speed connection: "Radar Men from the Moon, Chapters 1 thru 12"

February 7, 2006: Lone Ranger T-shirts by Brand Old: Howard Peretti found a new line of Lone Ranger clothing called Brand Old on the amazon.com web site. They show 4 different T-shirts and two have the images of Clayton Moore and Silver on them. I did find them on another web site and they were priced the same. Here's the Amazon web page where you can view the shirts, with two of them being women'styles: "Brand Old Lone Ranger T-shirts" Here is the second web site that also shows all 4 styles: "Distant Replays" Thanks for the information Howard!

February 1, 2006: New Vandor Lone Ranger merchandise! Jim Hollaert informed me that he is getting some new Lone Ranger items in from Vandor in the coming weeks. He will have in his store next week, one of the new items. The other items won't arrive until late March. The item that Jim will have next week is a small rectangular tin tote (like a lunch box). Jim tells me that it appears that Classic Media is not wanting companies to use anything but what I call generic Lone Ranger images on merchandise now. I think it's a terrible decision, if that's the case, as I like to collect Clayton Moore and John Hart marked merchandise. You can see a photo of all the new items at Jim's web site: "Jim n' I Enterprises"

January 29, 2006: WHT broadcasts of The Lone Ranger-UPATE: Got the word from my contact at LESEA today, that the broadcast of The Lone Ranger was changed due to a large ammount of email requests that WHT show the Clayton Moore episodes. For that reason, WHT has begun broadcasting the season 1 episodes again. I'll update the TV Schedule page to reflect the show through the 2nd week of February.

January 28, 2006: WHT broadcasts of The Lone Ranger! As viewers of the WHT can attest to, the Lone Ranger broadcasts have taken a twist. While half-way through season 3 (the John Hart season) WHT started broadcasting the beginning of season 1 (with no change in the guide until this past Friday). From the schedule that I have, this continues through next week, with season 1 shows being shown. However, this same guide shows that WHT reverts back to season 3 shows on Monday, February 6th with episode # 95, thus skipping some of the John Hart episodes. Confused? I am and since I don't receive WHT, it makes it hard to keep up, so I depend on Lone Ranger fans like Deb J., Mickey G. and others to alert me to current events. I have a message in to Lesea Broadcasting and hope that they can tell me what is going on and what Lone Ranger fans can expect to see for a schedule in the next week or two. For now, viewers can expect the unexpected. Stay tuned!

January 23, 2006: Lee Felbinger in Reminisce magazine: This is a bit dated but if you can locate a copy of the November/December 2005 issue of Reminisce magazine, there is a nice article by Lee Felbinger on pages 40-41. Lee writes about the Lone Ranger premiums in the 1940's time period. There is a cute picture of Lee riding on a small version of "Scout". Reminisce is published by the Reiman Publishing Co. but don't bother calling or writing them for this issue as they are sold out. I ran a wanted ad in my credit union's swap sheet and a local and kind subscriber gave me their copy of this issue. Lee has written 3 Lone Ranger collectibles books with the last one coming out in January, 1998. Thanks to Jim Hollaert for making me aware of this article.

January 20, 2006: Lone Ranger saddle on Ebay! I ran across the following auction today, for a custom made Lone Ranger saddle. According to the auction description, an error was made on a metal plate where it reads "Hi Ho Silver" instead of "Hi Yo Silver" and the customer turned it down. Lots of photos of the detail on this saddle, if anyone wants to add this to thier collection. Note that this auction ends in about 3 days: "Custom-made Lone Ranger saddle"

January 20, 2006: "The Republic Chapterplays": Clayton Moore fan, Joe M., reminded me that Clayton is on the cover of a book that came out October 1, 2000. Not sure if I covered it here before or not so I'll mention it now. The book is titled "The Republic Chapterplays: A Complete Filmography of the Serials Released by Republic Pictures Corporation, 1934-1955" and written by R.M. Hayes. It's available in a 176 page paperback currently. You can check out the cover at the Amazon.com web site: "The Republic Chapterplays" Click on the cover photo to bring up an enlarged photo.

January 4, 2006: A herd of Silvers found today! Earlier this afternoon, I was at the local K-Mart store and decided to see if they had the Dan-Dee stick ponies. In the back of the toy section, I found the Dan-Dee box and there were 6 "Silver" (all white) ponies amongst a few gray ponies. If you are still looking to add one to your collection, I'd suggest you check at K-Mart. Keep in mind that none of the ponies are tagged with the name of Silver or any other name and they were priced at $19.99 each. **NOTE 1/5/2006** I went back to the K-Mart store and some of the tags did indeed have the words on the tag "Hi Yo Silver Away". One of the white ones did not have this on it's tag but the other 5 did, as did some of the other colors. On one of the white ones, the head bobbed up and down as well. The ponies come only with some demo batteries so the lack of power or weakening batteries may be part of the reason why the sounds vary. All of the ponies had a voice with the sound as well. You can check out the herd picture here: "Silver Stick Ponies"

January 4, 2006: Lee Felbinger in Reminisce magazine: Jim Hollaert reports that in the Nov/Dec, 2005 issue of Reminisce magazine, there is an article by Lee Felbinger, on pages 40 and 41, on Lone Ranger cereal premiums. Lee is a Lone Ranger collectibles expert, with 3 books on the subject.
