The picture on the upper left is not a postcard, it is a simple camera shot of the beautiful desert with mountains for a backdrop. Every vista in Phoenix has mountains, the city is a desert valley surrounded by several different mountain ranges so no matter where you look there is a lovely view of mountains in the distance. On the upper right is one of the many sparkling mountain lakes, even though Arizona is mostly desert, the state has more boats per person than any other state and the mountain lake marinas are full of every kind of boat imaginable. The Indian ruins set within the wall of stone towers high above everyone, how it was built or accessed is mind boggling. This site, one of many Indian ruins, is called Montezuma's Castle, even though Montezuma was never here, and has been restored as part of the Arizona park district.
