Organizing Your EmailWant to save those yummy-sounding recipes you've been getting from the mailing lists? A little organization now will save you some frustration later. I keep recipes from the lists in one of two folders. My MC folder contains only the recipes that are already in MC format, and are saved with the .mcf extension (beef.mcf). Recipes that will need to be busted before importing into MC are kept in my Buster folder with the .txt extension (beef.txt). All recipes that need to be busted are kept in the Buster directory itself, because that's where Buster will look for them.
Where to put these folders? That's up to you. Some people keep them in with their email program folders. I keep the MC recipes in the Sierra directory, and the Buster recipes go into the Buster directory. Just remember where you put them :)
To create new folders for your email:
1. Start|Programs|Windows Explorer
2. Find the directory where you'd like to store the recipes (for example
d:\sierra\mcook4) and click on it (highlight)3. Go to File|New|Folder
4. Name the folder and hit return.
5. Your newly created folder should appear as a subdirectory of the directory you chose to put it in.
To save a recipe from email: (This may vary with different email programs)
1. Open the email.
2. Go to File|Save as.
3. Navigate to the directory where your email folders are.
4. Give your file a name.
5. Click save.
