My wife and I have been coming down (from Pittsburgh) for about 8 years. Our best friends Karen and Mike Panson invited us down for Fall weeekend, and we've never been the same since.

We stay at the Timberline Resort and have rented the same home for these last 8 years. The home is a 2 story with a cathederal style living room. It quite spacious and over looks our favorite item about the whole vacation. Down off the back deck, steps lead down to a outdoor Gazeebo enclosed Hot-Tub.

This is so great to relax and enjoy the cold mountain air (usually 20-40 degrees at night). The day time hours are spent at your own leasure, Mickey (My wife) and I just love taking long walks on the mountainside roads, or going down to the valley floor and walking along the main road to the Resort.

The views from the valley are just as nice as are the views from the mountaintop. The "rocks", as we all call them is an outcropping of large boulders that are flat enough to sit upon and allow the most magnificent view of the complete Canaan valley floor.
