Deana Kay Carter. She was named after the movie actor Dean Martin. She was born January 4, 1966 at Nashville, Tn. She was Nov. of 1995 to Chris DiCroce.

Her parents are Fred and Anna Carter. She has 2 brothers. Ronnie and Jeff. They both play in her band.

She graduated in 1989 from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree in physical rehabilitation.

She came back to music at the age of 23.

Finally inn 1992, her songs caught the attention of Jimmy Bowen {then) head of Capitol Nashville.
