CWW in the Year 2016
To further school participation in CWW projects, CWW
will be offering the following services in the year 2065:
For an annual fee of $250, CWW will
--Introduce your students to writing creatively;
--Introduce your students to what it takes to get published;
--Send acceptance or rejection notices to your students regard-
ing the status of their manuscripts;
--Offer your students an opportunity to read and see the creative
writing and language artwork of students from other schools;
--Send your school a free publication in which the creative writ-
ing and/or language art work of your students appear;
--Continue to publish anthologies with the creative writing and/or
language artwork of students from throughout the English-speak-
ing world;
--Offer your children an author-reduced rate of 20% discount on
any copy up to 9 purchased of the anthology containing their
writing, or 30% discount on 9-19 copies ordered; and will
--Offer schools and libraries a special rate of 40% reduction on the
purchase of twenty or more copies of any issue.
Beginning January 1, 2017, CWW will continue the
publishing schedule established in 2013:
--there will be two theEclectics and two thematic anthologies -
one for Spring and one for Fall.

Focus: a) folkloristic matter; b) poetry, prose, language/ computer art by children (state age of child and verify authenti- city of writing); and by all ages; special interest groups, senior citizens (state age), disabled (state why), shut-ins (state why). 2. Language: English; translations by a native English speaker from another language. All manuscripts will be edited by CWW. 3. Manuscripts: Typed or legibly written: prose double-spaced, 1 poem per page, 1” margin (all sides); give name, home address, age (if child, up to 19) top left on every page; number pages. Use standard font, size 12. Do not fax manuscripts. You may E-mail manuscripts. Send no more than 3 poems/prose by one author to any CWW theme. 4. Length: Poetry: up to 20 lines, up to 46 characters across any line. Prose: 800 words maximum. Shorter poems/prose have a better chance, if of quality. Our staff readers do count the words. Longer poems, if of quality, are converted to prose, or they are returned. Longer prose are returned with request to rewrite. 5. Format: Title poems (except haikus); do not indent each line differently, nor put a single word on a separate line. Title prose. If not titled, CWW will provide title. 6. Style: Poetry: any; folkloristic tales: any; folkloristic research: use MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations. Prose: Quality writing. Use no brand names, names of companies, movies, television shows, etc. CWW is not their endorser. 7. Content: CWW publishes according to set themes. Vulgarity or violence of any nature, over-preoccupation with death, racial slurs or preferences, pornographic material, or current sensationalism will not be accepted. 8. Cover Letter: Include cover letter or CWW submittal form, stating name of project submitted to. 9. Multiple Submissions: Are not accepted. 10. Previously-Published Manuscripts: Are not accepted. If of folk- loristic nature, permission of reprint must be enclosed. 11. SASE (self-addressed-stamped envelope with sufficient postage + 2 oz. for CWW material): Must accompany all manuscripts & correspondence. Rule: Manuscripts and correspondence submitted without SASE are destroyed at end of month submitted. A self- addressed envelope without postage is not a SASE. You may use E-mail, make sure to give return E-mail, for CWW to respond. 12. Query: Is preferred. CWW does not publish self- contained books. CWW publishes anthologies according to set themes. Theme list for 2014 is Spring and Fall. 13. Copyright: CWW Publications. After publication, rights revert back to author for submission elsewhere. CWW requests a credit line be given to CWW for having published the item first. Content and graphics submitted must be copyright-free or a copyright-clearance statement must be included. 14. Evaluation: By CWW staff or guest readers; folkloristic items are read by guest scholars of folklore. CWW editors take the readers’ and scholars’ suggestions into consideration when further evaluating manuscripts. All manuscripts must reflect the standards of CWW. CWW offers suggestions how to improve rejected stories/poems. 15. Reading Time: One month after deadline of theme. First notice might come one year after submitting to a specific theme. It is the writer’s responsibility to notify CWW of any changes in the status of the manuscript or in change of writer’s address. 16. Payment: Writers/poets published by CWW receive 20% discount on copies purchased of issue containing the writing; orders of 10 to 19 copies, writers receive a 30% discount; on orders of 20 or more copies, writers/schools/libraries receive 40% off. Note: A poet/writer does not have to order a copy to get published; however, a poet/writer should not use the services of CWW to claim “acceptance” only. There are neither tear sheets nor free copies. Accepted material is not returned. Byline: name of writer/ poet, age (if child/senior), city and state. 17. Contract: No contract. A statement of publishing intent is forwarded with acceptance notification and guidelines, at which time a writer/poet may withdraw manuscript within a given time. 18. Publications per Annum: 2-3 anthologies, written by all ages; 2 anthologies written by children (must be written by children, up to 19 years of age, not by well-meaning adults); 2 theEclectics by adults (20 and over) only. 19. Market/Readership: Family, schools, libraries, universi- ties, editors, physicians, political and religious leaders, shut- ins. CWW publications are evaluated at trade fairs and trade conferences and are presented at book fairs; some are used in reading classes. 20. Editors/Advisors: Editor-in-Chief/Publisher:Brigitta Geltrich; Visiting Editor:Bert Hower; Advisor: D.G. Spencer Ludgate; Web-site advisors: D. G. Spencer Ludgate and K. Cost of Issues: Single:US$12-15. Special:US$15-$20; Back Issues: US$7 with SASE of 3 oz. Credit-card orders are not accepted at this time. Libraries and schools receive a 10% discount. Back-order status is set by CWW. Most issues do not make it to back-order status. 23. Reading Fees: Are reasonable and available. Write to CWW for information and fee, include SASE. 24.
