1. Edward1 Baker was born in ENG, and died June 1835 in Carrollton, Greene, IL. He married Lucy Dickinson September 10, 1807 in Portsmouth, ENG, daughter of Dickinson. Edward came to US with family in 1816. Father possibly an Admiral in the English Navy. Lucy's brothers: Edward Dickinson, in British Navy at the Battle of Trafalger in 1805 under Lord Nelson. Thomas Dickinson, Captain under Lord Collingswood in same battle. Might find Lucy's baptism record in Portsea, ENG. records on microfilm at LDS Salt Lake City.

Looking for info. on Milton Baker, b. abt. 1816 in Ga. He married Lucinda Sheppard in 1842 in Coosa Co., Ala. By 1850 he had settled in China Grove in Pike Co., Ala. Milton was killed by a slave abt. 1863. Some of Milton's children were: Benjamin Wesley; William Andrew; John Franklin; Alexander Stephen; and Joanna Francis. After Milton's death, the family settled in Louisiana by 1873.

I descend from Capt. John and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Baker.He came from Bingen (on the Rhine) Germany ca.1754. Married Elizabeth in Philadelphia in 1760 - They lived in Shenandoah Valley, Va - later moved to Green Co. Pa then westward to the Ohio Valley area near where Moundsville, WVa is now located. He built "Baker's Station" or "Fort Baker" - used during the Rev. War and in battles with Indians. He was killed by Indians in 1787. They had 11 children: Catherine, Margaret, Henry, John, Elizabeth, George, Joseph, Jacob, Mary Jane, Martin and Isaac. Elizabeth Sullivan Baker lived to be 92 + years and was buried in a cemetery in Monroe County, Ohio near Woodsfield.
