Our homepage will be continually updated with new information.

And please, do come back.

The Boeing Stratosingers were organized in October of 1955 by William  (Bill) C. Harper.
The first practice was held at the Wichita University campus.  Present at the first practice
were 17 members. Within 4 years the rooster had grown to 67.

The name "Stratosingers" was suggested by the late Jack Wecker
who worked for the Boeing Plane Talk.  The group was directed by Bill
Harper for the next 30 years.  Bill retired and Jack Coleman took over as
director. After Jack came Director Jennifer Crowley-Johnson who left the
group in September of 1998 to become a full time high school musical
Director. We were then fortunate enough to have join us our current
Director Ken Ceradsky.   The group has sung for every Boeing
President since then, and in the past has sung for some
of the corporate board meetings

Our practice sessions take place every Tuesday night at the
Wichita Boeing Fitness/Recreation Center from 7:00pm - 8:30pm
New members are always welcome!!!!!!

The group sang for Barry Goldwater in a jam packed Cotillion Ballroom when
he was a candidate for President of the United States.
When Bob Dole was running for re-election the group sang at Century II and
supporting him that night was then-Govenor of California and former
President Ronald Regan.
The group sang for the world premiere of "Bombers B-52" that was held here
in Wichita. By happenstance there were 52 people on the risers.
Another highlight was when the group sang with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
The group to date has sung 522 shows since records began in June of 1967.
One memorable night the late, great, Fred Waring came to visit our rehersal and conducted
us in an inpromptu practice session.

The Stratosingers are recipients of a number of a number of Awards. One was
from Boys State. We entertained them several years in a row, and we've never
heard such wholesome noise and enthusiasm.
Another award received was the President's Award from Lions International for
service to the community, the first such award ever given in Kansas.
