"Here's How to Cut Those Wings"

How hard is it to make chicken wings? There's not much you need to
know. Although the traditional Buffalo wings are hot and spicy, wings
also take well to sweeter treatments and to Asian flavors, particularly
when served cold. You can buy big bags of drumettes, but you can also
buy party packs of whole wings, usually 18 to a pack. Cut those up
yourself and you will get 36 wings for a little over $5.00.
To cut them up, first spread out a wing on a cutting board. It
will be in three sections: the tip, the oblong center portion, which has
two bones, and the drumette. Cut off the tip and discard it or save it to
add to chicken stock.
Now place the remaining two parts on the cutting board, skinside up
in a V-shape. At the bottom of the drumette, feel around for the joint,
which feels like a skinny, pointed knee. Cut straight through on the other
side of it (the side closest to the center section).

Here are some tips for hosting a memorable Super Bowl Party:

    1) ESTABLISH A "GAME PLAN" : Outline party menu and compile shopping
lists for food, drinks, napkins, paper plates and disposable utensils.

    2) "BLITZ" THE GROCERY: Don't wait until Saturday night to hunt the
stores, or you may be stuck serving nothing but cheese puffs and skunky
beer.

    3) "SCORE" EARLY: Prepare as much as possible on Saturday. (Pregame
shows begin at dawn, don't they??)

    4) "GO DEEP" WITH FOOD AND DRINK: This is one occasion that may serve
as breakfast, lunch and dinner for some guests. So make sure you have
plenty to serve.

   5) "STOP THE RUN" TO THE KITCHEN: To make feeding (and serving) more
convenient, set up a buffet near the television. Establish "SNACK ZONES"
by positioning bowls of chips, dip and pretzels in the viewing area.
