We have had several requests for suggested reading material. Following is a list of the books that we like. These books can be ordered by clicking on the highlighted links. This will take you to the Books Now online store where ordering is a snap! If you have any books that you like and think we should include, send mail so that we can add it. If you would like to write a brief synopsis to help others decide if the book is the right one for them, that would be GREAT!!

The Consumer's Guide to Cat Food by Liz Palika: for times when you  can't cook for kitty, make sure the food you serve is the best possible.

Siamese Cats by Ron Reagan: though we've never had a Siamese in our house, this is a great book with information helpful to all owners.

Longhaired Cats; Purchase, Care, Nutrition, Illnesses: Special Chapter: Understanding Cats, English by Ulrike Muller: longhairs present special care needs; here are some good tips.

Burmese Cats; Everything about Acquisition, Care, Nutrition, Behavior, Health Care, and Breeding by Carolyn M. Vella: Siddhartha, my Burmese friend, agrees that this is the one book you need.

A Step-By-Step Book about Persian Cats by  Earl Schneider: an A-Z guide with information about these beautiful felines.

CHILDREN

Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss: we never grow tired of this one!

Cat in the Hat Comes Back by Dr. Seuss: more fun from our favorite children's author.

Cat, You Better Come Home by Garrison Keillor, Steve Johnson, and Lou Fancher: if you like Keillor's work on NPR, you'll love this; another one for kids of all ages!

HUMOR

Cat's Out of the Bag! Jokes about Cats by Sharon Friedman,  Irene Shere, and Joan Hanson: we all have our own stories, but some of these are outright gut-busters.

Cat-E-Chisms; Feline Answers to Life's Big Questions by Bill Zimmerman and Tom Bloom: if you don't think life as a cat is easier, get this one!

Cat Horoscopes; For Each of Your Cat's Nine Lives by Genia Wennerstrom: astrology for your furry friend.

Cat Quotations; A Collection of Lovable Cat Pictures and The Best Cat Quotes, Mini ed. by Helen Exley: cats are on the minds of many who have spoken some wise, witty words.

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut: not specifically about cats, but a good read nonetheless.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams: again, not about cats, but it's by one of our favorite American playwrights.
