Both Web Browsers - Keyboard Shortcuts


F1 - Brings up Help window.



ESC - Stops a web page from loading.



SPACEBAR - Scroll down a web page in the browser window.



CTRL-B - Opens the Bookmarks/Favorites Folder.



CTRL-D - Adds a URL to the Bookmarks/Favorites Folder.



CTRL-F - Opens File Dialog box.



CTRL-H - Opens the History Folder.



• General Browser Tips
  

• You can view the contents of your C: drive (or any drive by changing
  the drive letter) in your browser window by typing: "file:///c:/" into
  the address field (URL location field) without the quotation marks.
  
  

• With the newer browser versions you can locate known company and
  organization web sites by just typing their name into the address bar
  without the "http://", "www", or ".com, .org, .net". For example,
  just type "IBM" or "Pepsi"
  
  

• Email stuff

  
  

  If you are mailing to a number of addresses, use the BCC (blind carbon
  copy) feature provided in most major email programs. That way your
  recipients won't have to read everyone else's address before reaching
  the body of the message.
  
  

  If you have a number of different email accounts, here are a few free
  programs that can help you keep on top of your mail:

  F2 - To quickly rename a highlighted file or folder.
  
  

  F3 - Opens the Find All Files tool.
  
  

  ALT-ESC - To cycle through open programs & folders.
  
  

  To quickly bring up the Properties information for any program, folder
  or file, double-click it while holding down the Alt key.
  
  

  In any Explorer folder, typing a letter will take you to the first file

  in the folder that begins with that letter. Pressing the letter again
  takes you to the next file which starts with that letter.
  
  

  You can rename any .BMP image file to .ICO and use it as an icon.
  Windows 95 automatically resizes the image to icon size and reduces
  the number of colors to 16.
  
  

  Click and drag any object from the desktop and drop it on the Start
  button to add it to the Start Menu.
  
  

  To keep programs in the Startup folder from launching, hold down
  the CTRL key while entering Windows.
