Harvest Moon SNES

for SNES

This is where the Harvest Moon-mania began! In 1997 (? I think it was '97...if you know for sure PLEASE email me!) Natsume released an obscure game called Harvest Moon. It was one of the last games to be released for SNES so it's production run was limited making it one of the rarer SNES games (Good luck finding a copy...mine cost me $70!). The point of the game was simple: You are given an abandoned farm by your parents and you have 2 1/2 years to make it flourish. Plant turnips and potatoes in the spring and corn and tomatoes during the summer. Simple, right? Wrong. The game gets more detailed than just planting and growing. First off you need to plow an area then plant the seeds (There are several different strategies people use. The most efficient one is to plant the crops in a C pattern.). Then you need to water them every day and when they grow you bring them to the shipping box and get paid. And if you want extra cash you can grow grass to feed chickens and cows you buy. And don't think your farmer lasts all day without getting tired...oh no. You have a stamina rating (Which you can't see so don't ask!) and when that runs out you're too exhausted to use your tools. But don't worry if you're work isn't finished, you can replenish stamina by going into the spa in the mountains and the nights last forever so you'll have plenty of time to hoe/water/chop etc. And you think you're going to be a bachelor all your life? Well you can be...but that's no challenge. Choose from 5 different girls around town to court (I'm not sure if you can court that fat lady in the grocery store but you can try oh most fetished one.). And if you want to have more stamina points, look for the Power Berries! Collect all 10! Yikes...anyways, this game has 20 different endings so GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL! (NOTE: Please regard the last few sentences..it was late)

FAQ

Q. Where can I get a copy of Harvest Moon for SNES?

Good luck...took me weeks to find mine. Try eBay or UGTZ.

Q. Well then...can I have yours?

NO!

Q. Sorry...well can you explain to me the C shape for the crops? Is it like the ones in the picture?

No no no...it's a C, not an E.

Q. So how do I get a bitch?

You mean a "woman".

Q. Yeah yeah…where do I buy one?

You don't buy a wife…

Q. Then what do I do?

Well first you start by taking off that mink coat and feathered hat.

Q. Okay, now what?

And now you start taking presents to the 5 different girls in town. Make sure to speak to the fortune teller to find out what each one wants.

Q. So then she marries me?

No, not yet. First she has to have 10 hearts.

Q. How do I find out how many hearts she has?

There's a diary in her house. Read it and it'll tell you how many hearts she has. But don't read it too much or you'll lose hearts.

Q. Then what?

Then when the peddler is in town on Sunday he'll have a blue feather. Buy it and present it to her. Ask the fortune teller for which day to present it to her. And make sure you have the first house upgrade or else you can't get married.

Q. So now I have sex and have many many kids?

Almost you little horndog. First you need the second upgrade to your house. Then within a few days she'll get pregnant. And the highest number of kids you can have is 2.

Q. Where are the power berries?

Ugh…gimme a second to think…

      1. Smash the chicken at the crossroads at the 1st of winter.
      2. Keep chopping stumps in the mountains until one appears.
      3. Plow until one appears.
      4. Plow until another appears.
      5. Throw a fish in the fishing pond.
      6. During the fall sell a chicken to the livestock dealer. When the Hawker comes trade the chicken to him for a power berry. (NOTE - BAD translation error on this part.)
      7. Throw a large jug of milk in the stew at the Harvest Festival.
      8. After the earthquake chop the stump next to the magical pond and fall down the hole.
      9. Win the Easter Egg hunt.
      10. Plant the snowflower during the winter.

I'm not sure if all of these are correct because reports conflict. These work definitely on my copy but I don't know if there are different versions of the game.

Q. And what about the special tools?

Golden Axe - Go to the fairy pond near the mountain cave. "Throw" your axe in. When the fairy comes out tell her the truth to get the Golden Axe.

Golden Hoe - During the fall you will find a collapsed gnome just outside your farm. Feed him a mushroom.

Golden Sickle - When lightning strikes the spooky tree on your farm go down into the hole and talk to the gnomes.

Golden Hammer - When the carpenter asks to borrow your hammer let him. When he returns it will be golden.

Golden Sprinkler - Is available the 20th of summer for sale at the tool shop for $2000.

Q. Anymore questions?

HEY! I ask the questions!

Q. So sue me…now it's time for questions from viewers. Please email me!

That's not a question!

Q. YIPE! Out of time! Email me!
