Pancake onion - A rare 17th century pancake onion tavern bottle. It's a deep olive green in colour with a squat bulbous onion form. The lip has been sheared and a nice crude v-shapped string rim has been applied. It sports a sand pontil and shallow kick up. To qualify as a pancake onion, the base diameter must be equal to or greater then the bottle's height. This bottle meets the criteria, with a height of 5 and 1/2" and a base diameter of 6 and 1/2". Ca: 1790.
