YOU SUCK!

So recently I was surfing the net in search of punk (or any willing for that matter) sites of which I could beg the owners to be linked to and I found an astonishing number of sites to which entire pages were created and to devoted to bashing other people's sites for such insane reasons as they are simply not punk enough, or the owner is trying to be too punk, or there is too much information about themselves, or their stories suck too much to even be up for the public eye to see and so on and so forth. Looking at the time and effort these people devoted in order to tell the world how much a site sucks made me wonder which site was actually the worst site of the month. I mean think about it, who goes to all the trouble to look for, link to, write a page, put it up, just to bash another persons hard work except some petty human being who is overly critical of the world and hung up on their standards for being "punk" or "cool" or whatever. It's sad to think that people actually allow so much of their time and energy to be consumed by a site and a person whom they have already judged as worthless pooh anyway.

I personally have never had anyone bash me or S.P.O.R.E.S (possibly because it is the most amazing zine in the world...just kidding...don't devote a site to me because I'm so arrogant). Nope, no one has ever come right out and said things like that I suck and should go blow my brains out for even thinking I was cool enough to actually have a site (not that I know of anyway). If I did have people constantly bad mouthing my home page for such dumb ass reasons as there's too much on it about myself (so what else should I write about on my personal home page?), or because I like bands that God forbid, someone else does not find ultra cool, it would hurt my feelings. I think its ridiculous that people feel the need to mock or bash other people just because they do not meet their standards of coolness or because they "seem" superficial blah blah blah blah blah. How would they feel knowing that somewhere on someone else's homepage their was a site devoted to how much their page sucked? Not very good, so why subject someone else to the same torure?

The internet is a free place. Where anything and everything from anti-semite pages, to anti-gay pages, to KKK pages, to child porn pages are lurking waiting to corupt young (and old) minds alike and people continue to concentrate their energy on sending hate mail to people who sites simply aren't cool? Who's the stupid and superficial one here? There are sites out there that really do deserve the title of worst site because they do preach things that are morally wrong and socially unacceptable but they do not get labelled the worst site of the month, Michelle's Punk page does. Their are certain people who write homepages that should be protested against, and where letters trying to take them off the net should be sent...yet those site go unnoticed because they don't fit into pop culture.

If you don't like a site then just click onto another and never go back. There is no need to hurt and innocent persons feelings simply because of an opinion formulated from reading excerpts from their website. People concentrate so much on what should be cool, what should be "punk", lashing out at those who are seen as posers or try-hards when they themselves preach unity. There is absolutely no neeed to keep a page devoted to the "worst site of the month" in an attempt to show millions exactly how much the website does suck, and how much of a loser the owner is. What the fuck is up with that? Who's the one on a power trip? I think before someone links that crappy site to their page they just better think about who the petty one is.
