Out of the vast darkness of the warp, come the alien nightmare known as the Tyranids. The Tyranids pour forth and destroy, leaving nothing left of the citys they destroy. They consume all in thier path with no remorse. I have no tactics yet, Ill update this section when I play with my new Tyranid army a little more. Ok I'm back with a few hints I have learned so far. First of all always use a Carnifex, ten wounds, Toughness 8, this is one hell of a enemy to mess with. Ok I also use the "toughend Exo skeleton" biomorph on the Carnifex. It increase's its toughness by 1, so now he has a toghness of 9! try wounding that!! Lictors also play a important part in my Tyranid Army. Their abillity to inflitrate at the start of the battle can turn the tides of battle to your side. The also have a 5+ unmodified save against any weapon. Their flesh hooks also help in dragging those peskey humans to you while they try and run. Genestealers are your best hand to hand fighters, give them a screen of Termagants and Hormaguants and chrage the enemy. If your stealers make it in to hand to hand combat consider the enemy dead. I have yet to use Zoanthropes, or ripper swarms, but I have used the Tyranid warriors. They are important in a couple of ways. First of all if any Tyranid brood is withen 12 inches of a Tyranid warrior they automaticlly pass any leadership based test. Second they have good WS and BS, they can also carry many good weapons, such as the Venom Cannon :). I still haven't used the Tyranid Gargoloyes, I am playing a game tomorrow and plan on using different combos of Tyranids. So then I will be able to give a few more helpful hints. Well till the cyas.
