Requiem is currently temporarily offline.

Please note that it is not gone permanently but only temporarily while certain improvements on the section are underway.

Okay, a little background. I've been a big RPG fan for a long time, but as time went on I've found my inclination to play them declining. Wargames have been a lot more fun and since Chronopia came out most of my time has been spent in that area. This more or less directly led to the creation of the Stygian Abyss section of the Realm and the lavishing of attention on that area over others.

The fact is, I don't play Palladium games much anymore, so it's very hard to work up the enthusiasm required to do anything in that section. This does not mean that Rifts, MC2 or Metroplex are going to be deep-sixed; I'm not in the habit of reducing the size of the Realm, quite the opposite. It just means that I'm not going to be adding much of anything in the foreseeable future. New content may continue to arrive in the form of contributions by others but that's about it.

Instead, I'm going to focus (with whatever free time I can devote to this page) on the Stygian Abyss and Requiem.

Requiem is a great game. I've been working on it off and on for six or seven years now. Palladium's American-centricity, insane rules and orientation are really starting to irritate me and I'm not willing to dive into and collect from scratch a new game system, and although I do like and play Shadowrun, there's already enough material about for that game and I doubt greatly that I could have any meaningful impact on it (if, indeed, I have any sort of impact at all on any scale).

Anyway, enough with this drivel. Requiem will go back up when I get some things straightened out. When it does go up, it'll have more and better artwork, a downloadable illustrated version to go with the downloadable unillustrated version, the online sections will have a much slicker visual presentation and in general, it'll get the treatment I think it deserves. At which point I'll probably put some more work in on one of the sourcebooks I've started for it.

If you'd like to help out with Requiem, please feel free to drop me a line, although until I get it back up there'll be little for anyone but me to do.

If you would like to be notified when the new sections go online, send me an E-mail message and I'll include you in the "it's up, huzzah" mailing.
