Comments:     I have a very wide general knowledge of lotsa things (I am a very trivial person :) and some more specific interests, although I am willing to lend a hand wherever needed for information.  I am very good with any TOS trivia/information (including conformity to the series), but a bit more general on DS9.     I prefer completed stories.  I will take parts, and hold on to them until the completed work is in, however I have had a number of occasions where the author had a great storyline which never got finished (for one reason or another) and I was a bit disappointed.  Once I get to know the author, I can be negotiated with tho... :)

Comments:     I've noticed that we seem to have a sizeable population on ASCEML of non-native speakers of English.  I'd like to offer myself specifically to them as a beta.  I have an excellent grasp of grammar, spelling and punctuation, which I think is necessary.  I'm offering to help non-native speakers so that all their phrasing is natural, and nothing sounds like it was written by a non-native speaker.  I'd be delighted to explain the rules of English that come up as a result - to help you reach a more natural and fluent command of English, in other words.  That's in addition to normal beta-ing, not instead of it.  I'm very big on characterization and, to a lesser extent, style.  Mechanics are just my first love, in a manner of speaking. :)     BDSM, non-cons and rape are not exactly my favorite subject matter, but I wouldn't let them stop me from reading a story.

Comments:     I do prefer slash to Het, but will read either if well-written.  I do like, even my erotica to make some pretense at plot.  Just because the focus is sex, doesn't mean that there can't be a story.  I will read stories that deal with issues of non-con/rape, but only if it's a necessary part of the plot.  They are not usually my favorite, but if you're dealing with the emotional impact of the experience, I'll give it a try.

Comments:     I like (and will beta-read) any kind of ST parody/humour etc. This can range from the harmless, friendly kind of teasing of Wesley Crusher (aka, the Wuss) to severe applications of slapstick humour.  I look for consistency/continuity in the story also, from plot and characterization to grammar, spelling and general writing inconsistenties.  I'll also look at style (ie. where the writing style used is as important to the narrative as the plot.)     I'd prefer to accept shorter length stories (1000 lines or less) than novellas.  No preference for character pairings; I'm not not particularly interested in a story where the point is the pairing over the story, but I won't hold that against the story or refuse it on that basis.  I will not deal in any kind of porn/sexual/rape situations or outright violent or sado-masochistic stuff (I know, some of my stuff is borderline; I like to hope that it still falls under slapstick.)

	Comments:     I am quite familiar with the characters and have all the Blish books (which are not strictly accurate in dialogue but are good resources for general canon plot points, names and places.  I also write non-Trek and have a good background in the mechanics of fiction in general.
