I was born in Livingston, NJ and raised in Newark and Bloomfield. I've been playing trombone since the fifth grade. Since I was young, I've always been turned onto music. Now at the ripe age of 18, various kinds of music continue to play a tremendous role in my life. Some of my influences include jazz artists such as JJ Johnson, KK Kai, and Ron Garlin. Also bands like ALL, MXPX, Descendents, Reel Big Fish, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, and my personal favorite: Rusted Root. As you can see, I have a pretty diverse selection of influences. We all do and that's what makes Day Nineteen, Day Nineteen. Because of my acquired tastes, my bandmates like to call me the "Hispanic Hippie" (funny, eh? tubby Jason thought of that all by himself), but that's ok cause I love them all to death. Not to be arrogant or anything, but I seriously believe that I am part of one of the greatest bands ever assembled. What more can I ask for? Extrememly talented musicians, great friends and a great sound. Whenever we play a show, I seriously believe that that night we are bigger than the Beatles ever were. Woody is my true inspiration for being in the band. I look up to that guy and I feel that he has taught me a lot about musicianship and life. I guess there's nothing left to say but "rock and roll." - Obi
