WHY SALEM, ILLINOIS??? 
 "Days of our Lives" is set in a midwest

 town which has always been referred to

 as SALEM, U.S.A.  In 1995 Days celebrated

 their 30th anniversary of its first

 broadcast.  Corday Productions wrote to

 Salems accross the nation, asking that

 they proclaim November 8, 1995, "Days of

 Lives Day". Our Salem not only agreed,

 but asked for and received permission

 to host a festival as part of 

 the celebration.  The event was

  a success and thanks to Corday

 Productions it has become an annual event.

Days of Our Lives
briefly in 1997 during
Mike & Carrie's "L.A. Adventure."
Days lured him back to Salem
early in 1998 as
Mike's competition for Chief of Staff
at University Hospital.
