Stone Gig Reviews.

Middlesborough Cornerhouse 31st March 1998.

This gig was postponed from the 13th March due to the Unbelievable Truth being ill. To say sorry, everyone who went got a 7" which had live versions of Stone and Who's to know. Only 800 were made so it's quite a collectors item. The band did a great gig and reproduced their stuff really well live, unfortunately alot of the people there were there bhecause they wanted to scope Thom Yorke's brother rather than being big fans of the band and so talked all the way through the set, some people even got up and walked out which was trez rude. Anyway, i thought the gig was excellent. Role on gig no. 2!

Newcastle Riverside 13th May 1998.

This gig was in a slightly larger venue (with a stage!! *wow*) so we could actually see them this time! The set again was excellent, they started with 'Forget about me' and finished with 'Almost here' the titlae track from their album. They played nearly all the songs off their ablum plus tyre tracks and who's to know and four new ones. The band were in high spirits and were cracking jokes.

Andy:'The more astute amongst you will realise i sang 'Crapped in a building' as opposed to 'Trapped in a building' on that last song (refering to building)
Nigel: (laughing [alot]) 'I can't believe you admitted to that.'

After the gig i met Nigel and had a chat, i also got my copy of the Stone EP signed by all the band, even Jason who wasn't very well apparently. Another top gig!
Oh and their t-shirts are damn nice too.

Reading Festival 1998.

UT played to a small crowd of dedicated and interested fans. The set was very short but they were having to stick to a set time. The set included favourites such as 'Building', 'Stone', 'Higher than Reason' etc. This time they didn't play tyre tracks (I was sad about that it's my fave [as you probably know]). Everyone really got into the music and really enjoyed it. It was a wonderful break from all the loud punk and metal! A kewl set!
