Hi Everyone! My name is Debbie, I am 42 years old and I live in San Jose, CA. I was born in Port Angeles, WA and moved to California when I was 16. The Mill my father worked at closed down and he was laid off. {Fiberboard}. I have a son Bill {named after my father} who is 20 years old. I have been married to Ron for 14 1/2 years. He is the best! I am a certified medical Assistant and work for a wonderful doctor. I put in long hours, I am usually at work at 7am and leave between  5-5:30pm. I look forward to coming home and putting work behind me and picking up one of my projects to relax. I am new at this cross stitch loop and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing projects and anything else we can think of.

I am so looking forward to hearing from all of you!

Debbie

Thank you for the great welcome. I am looking forward to chatting with everyone. A little something about myself. I am 40, married {husband Tom}, with two kids {Sean, 16; Maggie 15} and currently I am a Psychiatric Rehab Counselor. I am trying to get into Med school. {Please ask me if I am studying every once in awhile-I tend to slack off at times} My hobbies are sewing, crochet, cross stitch, needlepoint, reading, camping and scouts {Boy and Girl and Explorer}. I am also the WORST housekeeper. I live in Maryland so work in EST.

See you then,

Kathy

My name is Pegi, I live in Santee, which is a surburb of San Diego. I am married,13 years, to a really sweet guy whose name is Ed. We have one son, named Nate who is 6. After 5 years of horrible infertility testing to achieve pregnancy the first time we thought that we would leave it to God this time to give us anymore. We believe that God doesn't give you anymore than you can handle, and Nathan is a handful. He is very spoiled as most only children are. I have been sewing and counted cross stitching mostly since I have been married. I find it very therapeutical now that I am not working and I am home all the time. I worked at a Navel Hospital in the city in the Pediatric Department, until I was in a car accident in February which has left me with back pain...yes still. I have been havng all sorts of wonderful {NOT} treatments and a lot of physical therapy. I go in on Monday {11-3-97} for a MRI on my hip. Enough of that!

I am looking forward to talking and getting to know each and everyone of you and exchanging projects in the round robin. Don't take it personal if I become moody or stand-offish, I get moody with all the pain medications and can be a little {husband says a LOT} grumpy. As you can tell I get a little negative at times, I am working on that too...just ignore me...everyone else does. We have three rotty dogs, which are barking at the fence right now. Must be a cat or something on the other side. My neighbor must really love me with all that racket. We enjoy camping as much as we can. We just finished up the summer months up at the lake with the boat and now the desert season starts with the wheelers. No riding for me this season but at least I get to go, I can always find something to read or sew on out there. I am rambling so I guess that's about it.

Talk to you soon,

Pegi

Hi my name is Wendy and I cannot begin to you how much I have enjoyed meeting all of you and chatting with you. About me.....where do I start. A familiar question which I ask every morning I wake up with two children. I taught high school English for 10 years before getting married and having children. I taught mostly senior English, Shakespearean. Obviously, not typing. I have lived in Florida most of my life and pray that one day will be able to move to North Carolina, where I went to college, and raise our children there. We, my husband  John, and I have two wonderful little girls. Amanda, who is 3, we really believe is a 40 year old midget. Very chatty and can not wait until we allow her to have a Barbie.  Sarah is 10 months old. As I am writing this I just entered in her journal that today she took her first 3 steps!!! HURRAH! {What little sanity I had is now officially over.}

Two days a week I teach at Amanda's preschool, for 2 hours, Spanish and computers, to the 3 and 4 year olds. At 3 and 4 I was still trying to find my toes, oh the times are changing! I tutor at a facility 2 evenings a week, from 3:30-10:00. Long evening hours, but my mother-in-law comes and watches the girls until my husband gets home.

I love working in our veggie garden with my girls. I enjoy reading, who could have figured that out! I am trying to keep up with the Ophrah book of the month. I love to cross-stitch. I have done the nursery with some Beatrix Potter and Amanda's room with girlie stuff...pink of course. My kitchen is all done in cows. My computer is next to the nursery and with Sarah teething I spend some time there in the evenings.

I look forward to talking with all of you. What a wonderful way to finish my evenings. I will light a candle and have the girls say a prayer for all the special intentions.

Thank You all!

Wendy

My name is Tammy and I am glad to meet you all. I am from Tucson, AZ, I have been married for 18 years and we have a 5 year old son, who just started kindergarten. I have lived in Tucson all of my life and have been doing cross stitch for 20 years. I taught myself and just love it. Some of the things I have done are the Mill Hill kits that you do on preforated paper with the cross stitch and the glass beads, they are fun to do and not such a big project. Also I do the Told in a Garden Amish patterns. Some of the ones I have done are the Farmers Market, Simple Gifts, and Blueberry Homecoming. The quilts in these patterns are beautiful. I am currently working on 2 projects, the Country Store by Told in a Garden and the Voice of the Shepard. I have also started working on linen...are you familiar with Just Nan, and  the Garden Party, where there are not only cross stitches but there is also different stitches and beading. Boy are my eyes tired after working on linen....I have also done quite a few Heirloom Santas done on preforated paper and they are also fun to do, there are about 20 or so different ones. I love any patterns that are old fashioned and country.

Well I could go on and on about cross stitch. I have so much more to say but I will save it for next time. Once again it was great meeting you all.

Take Care,

Tammy

Hi! My Name is Jackie Clauser and I am so happy to be part of this Cross Country Stitchers Group.

I live in California and have many projects which keep me busy, and one of the most interesting is my cross-stitching.I started cross stitching about six (6) years ago, and needless to say, I became hooked. I have so many cross-stitching friends here in California and now I am happy to be a part of this group of gals too.

I have three (3) grown children, and five (5) grandchildren. My husband Bill and I are retired and one of my goals in life, now that I am retired, is to have fun. I worked inthe early years of my life then stayed home with the children, and went back to work after the last one went to colege, and then in 1988, I decided to just start taking life easy.

Since then, I have done that. I love to cross-stitch, walk, use my Nordic Track, swim, lunch and of course use the computer. Thank you all for welcoming me into this lovely group of ladies and hopefully, we will have alot of fun on many projects and getting to know each other. Don't forget to watch for RAINBOWS TOO.

Everyone! My name is Melanie and I am 26 years old. I live in Murphy, Texas which is a surburb of Dallas. {We are about 4 miles from the Southfork Ranch- you know from Dallas the TV series. Trust me it looks better on TV} I have been happily married for 4 1/2 years to a wonderful man, Roger-I snagged a good one. I graduated with a music degree, taught private lessons, went back for a teaching certificate and I taught multi-aged kindergarten in a Montessori school for 2 years. I recently quit my job to be a full time housewife. We were interviewing a housekeeper, a garden crew and we were going out to eat 4x a week. {And I never had time to x-stitch :-( } To make a long story short I decided to stop paying other people to live my life.

I LOVE to x-stitch, bake, cook, garden, and go to garage and estate sales. My favorite cross stitch patterns are the Lavender and Lace collection. I am currently working on the Angel of Spring. Roger picked out this pattern and is patiently waiting for it. When we were first married , I finally finished a promised project for my mom, The Angel of Peace. Roger was in awe at the finished project and was looking for a place to hang it- he was disappointed that it was already earmarked for my mom. A friend of mine had a baby and has done the nursery in a garden theme. I found the Beatrix Potter ABC Sampler that I am dying to start. I really only like to do one project at a time but sometimes I just can't wait to start something.

I am really excited about this new venture and look forward to  meeting all of you!

Take care,

Melanie
