Mandy and Friends

'Mandy' sure loved these for treats...
She'd 'whiffle' for them so sweetly...
'Mandy' came
to our family about two years ago...
She had a
lovely filly back in 1999 -"Breezy".
Somewhere
back in 'Mandy's' past, she had been trained
to drive
on a cart.
During her
nearly 20 year life,
she had more
than her share of hard times.
'Mandy' had
an incurable disease known as "Cushings Syndrome".
We made her
last couple of years here at Southern Phoenix
as comfortable
as possible
She enjoyed
her last years withUs....
We are fortunate
to have shared our lives with our Beloved 'Mandy'...

Don't cry for the horses that life has set free.
A million white horses forever to be.
Don't cry for the horses now in God's hand.
As they dance and they prance in a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift, but never to keep.
As they close their eyes forever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound. On silver wings they fly.
A million white horses agaist a blue sky.
Look up into Heaven, you'll see them above.
The horse we lost, the horses we loved.
Manes and tails flowing, they gallup through time.
They were never yours, they were never mine.
Don't cry for the horses. They'll be back someday.
When time is gone, they will show us the way.
Do you hear that soft nicker? Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses. Love the ones that are here.

"My dear 'Mandy' suffered the pain of 'Cushing's Disease', as well as having a hard life before she came to us. 'Mandy' went from being unsure of letting me come near her to "wiffling" at my window in the morning for her graham crackers. God knows, I miss the sound of her sweet voice! At least I know that one day, when I cross the Rainbow Bridge, I will hear a familiar "wiffle" from dear, sweet 'Mandy'...."

She will live in the hearts
of the friends she made
And be known always for the
foundation she laid,
Because Goodness and Fairness
never die - they go
shining
on like the sun in the sky.
Just as Honor and Truth endure
forever,
Death is powerless to sever...
So her galant soul has taken
flight
into a land where there is no
night.
She is not dead, she has only
gone
on to a brighter, more wonderful
dawn.

She looked to me, eyes beseeching,
A tired soul, not quite reaching.
Her time had come to move along,
To ease her pain I must be strong.
A loyal friend, a quiet ride,
Who always showed a gentler side.
The time had come to say good bye,
To let her go, and let her fly.
Her youth was gone; she could not soar,
Her body aged, her health so poor.
A final gift had I to share,
A quiet death with love and care.
