Once upon a time a cute army guy and his girlfriend decided to take a little vacation over the August long weekend. So, they did. They packed up all their geer...and there sure was ALOT of it...and off they went. They originally wer egoing to hike about 10 kms into the deep, dark forest...but it was getting late so they tried the "lazy, city type" campground. You know, the kind with all the comforts of home. They managed to set up the tent in no time flat and started on dinner. Fireboy was more like Smokeboy...not because of any fault of his own mind you...the campground thought folk could actually start a fire with wet wood...Hmmm go figure that?!?! While setting up the rest of camp, Cute Army boy made a little friend...a ground squirrel. For the remainder of the trip the two became quite close. Cute Army boy even made him pancakes. It was a sad time when the couple had to leave. I do believe the lil' fella had a tear in his eye. Before the couple left they managed to enjoy the "Great Outdoors". They went on a lovely, yet swelltering hike to the Devil's punch bowl, had a round of mini golf - he won - and even played a GIANT sized checker game, which nobody won. They were both too good! hehe

Trying to light a fire with wet wood...for some reason we just got smoke?!?!
