note The Chick's Kick Ass!!
Natalie Maines (Tarabay), is behind the firey lead vocals of this chick trio. Natalie began singing at the age of 3, but of course coming from a musical backround such as hers (Dad - Lloyd Maines of the Maines Brothers), it's no surprise why she puts her heart and soul into her singing. Natalie is married to Michael Tarabay, bass player for Pat Green, and just recently celebrated their one year anniversary!
Always enjoying watching the two sing, Natalie met up with Martie and Emily in 1995, to form the dynamic trio. Born on October. 14th, 1974, in Lubbock, Texas, this blond hair, blue eyed beauty will definitely prove where Your Trouble is!
"We got a new slogan now, Chicks Rule. That's not just us, but all chicks."

Martie Seidel, born on October. 12th, 1969, in York, Pennsylvania, adds her incredible talent of playing the fiddle and mandolin to the Wide Open Spaces album.
Also not a stranger to music, Martie began playing the fiddle at the early age of 5, later joining Blue Night Express (Bluegrass Group for teens), and soon became a championship-level player.
Martie and husband, Ted Seidel, just celebrated their 3 year anniversary in June. Her step-son, who is 4, doesn't like when she wears all that make-up for shows, and has often said that she looks like a clown! Hehe.
Although she's not a clown, Martie used to work at an ice cream parlour before her singing career came to be.
Martie, along with fellow chick member and sister, Emily, are a perfect harmony duo which completes the Dixie Chicks country/bluegrass sound.

Emily Erwin, the captivating Dobro, banjo and acoustic guitar player of the Dixie Chicks, was born on August. 16th, 1972, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Emily, now 25, almost 26, also started at an extremely young age playing. She too, was a part of Blue Night Express, and help found the Dixie Chicks.
At age 7, Emily began the violin, and has basically played every instrument you can think of since then. Emily also once worked as a restaurant hostess, and at the age of 16, her and Martie played on street corners for tips.
Although not married, Emily was in a serious relationship with Ricochet singer, Heath Wright, but in 1996, Emily broke it off (umm....sort of ).
Emily's talent is beyond amazing and brings an unforgetable sound to the group. What's not to like about this Chick?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Dixie Chicks are an absolute gorgeous harmony trio with sounds like you've never heard before. These women broke Diamond Rio's previously held record for biggest-selling album by a new group in country music history! Not only has the Chicks album, Wide Open Spaces, gone gold, but their latest single There's Your Trouble is #1 according to many charts in the U.S, and coming close to it in Canada.
The Dixie Chicks name came from Little Feat's song, "Dixie Chicken", but was shortened later to Dixie Chix, then Dixie Chicks.
The Chicks have played everything from the Grand Ole Opry, to opening for Garth Brooks, and have shown that they are surely not an over-night success.
These Chicks definitely kick ass!
"When we kick off our song, we make sure it's a real doozie, where we're just wailin' away at everything we do best..." -Emily Erwin explains in an interview with COUNTRY America
