Little Lies
Little white lies ...
They seem harmless - hurting no one.
However the hazard is that some poor pratt
Takes you literally; at your word.
Then disaster strikes!
There will always be some of us
Who by nature are more trusing,
(Gullible, if you like), than others.
So what are we to do?
Where does the answer lie?
Does the onus lie with us -
To stand steadfastly by our word?
I think it should.
But whether or not it will is another matter!
In an imperfect world,
Populated by imperfect people,
Disappointment due to the implicit deceit
