"Maybe you've heard the joke about the rich man who
negotiated with God before he died. He said, 'Can't I take just
a little bit of my money to heaven?'
And God would tell him, 'No, you don't need any money in
Heaven.'
But he kept praying and he kept praying and finally one night
in a vision, the Father said to him, 'Okay, you can bring one
suitcase full of money.'
So the rich man went out and converted all of his
investments into gold bouillon and he filled up a suitcase full
of the gold bouillon and he went to bed that night holding that
suitcase.
Sure enough, he died and he woke up in Heaven, standing
there at the pearly gates before Peter holding his suitcase
and Peter looked at the list and he said, 'Sir, your name is on
the list, but you can't carry that suitcase in here.
You don't need anything in here.'
And the rich man said, 'Well, I got it from a higher authority
that I get to carry this suitcase in.'
And Peter said, 'Well, let me just look and see what you're
carrying.'
So the rich man opened up the suitcase and it was just full of
gold.
Peter looked down at that gold, then he looked up at that man
and he said, 'Pavement!?'"
"What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from
afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?"

man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a
camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the
