Plucky Has Hope

It was only a potato peel, but it was all a plucky little pig needed

to get up, stand at his bowl, and hope for more.

Stephen didn't exactly feed his pig,

but he did toss a potato peel into Plucky's dish as he went by.

Plucky didn't want to die.

He was ready to keep hope alive.

Not strong enough to stand, Plucky leaned on the bowl

and hoped that Stephen would remember him with any little scraps

he might happen to have.
