Plucky Thinks

It isn't easy being a little pig with an owner who forgets about you.

Some pigs get fed a lot and then they are eaten.

That's bad to think about.

Plucky didn't have that problem.

His owner just didn't remember that a little pig needs something to eat.

Poor Plucky sat by the road hungry and discouraged.

All he had found nearby was a stinky old cigar.

It was still smoking a little bit.

It didn't smell very tasty.

Plucky was very hungry, though, so he was waiting for the cigar to cool off.

He planned to pluck up the courage to eat that cigar.

"I wonder if Stephen is having something to eat about now,"

thought Plucky.

Then he started to cry.
