Lois and Clark Lois and Clark is another interesting series that helps to teach people the way things really are in a time when the news media all over the world is bent to serving special interests and concealing the big picture from respective populations. Lois pays tribute to a respectable feminism. By respectable feminism, I mean feminism that pushes for equal rights, without becoming a role reversal of misogynists men hating women by creating a culture of women hating men, such as what is popularly viewed as the Gloria Steinem school of feminism, designed to foment hatred for men and divide women who believe in justice into a splinter group that can never attain solidarity with a general population interested in justice per se. This is done typically by taking any group interested in a particular injustice, and elevating radicals within that group that cause the group to be identified as a perpetrator of other injustices. That is another story. In a symbolic translation of the historic Superman legend, where Lex Luthor is simply an evil demented genius, in Lois and Clark Lex Luthor is a corporate CEO with no boundaries on how he will achieve profits for his corporation. Thus Lex Luthor's evil has not changed, but how this evil fits into society has been demonstrated by example. In creating this relevant scenario, Lois and Clark has again demonstrated how fictional TV can be more educational and informative that the propaganda News Media and politicians turned demagogue's by the nature of politics and the media in the 1990's. In another explanation for the deluded masses of the true nature of today's realities, Lois states, as she is trying to collect evidence to incriminate Lex Luthor, "evidence is what separates the successful businessman from the criminal". Without more ado, Superman has always represented the very righteous values of justice and fairness in an imperfect rule, and also character that is built on solid ground and not whimsically self serving. Lois and Clark bring the best of these values and frame them in the 1990's, with warmth and wit!
