Reactants
1,3-butadiene + ethene
diene (1,3-butadiene) + dieneophile (ethene)

Mechanism
reactants --> product

Electron movement arrows are red; bonds and atoms that are affected are blue. The colors have no impact on the structures or mechanisms; they are just there for clarity.

Other Examples
1,3-cyclopendiene reacts with itself --> dimer product

anthracene + maleic anhydride
Anthracene + Maleic Anhydride

Anthracene + Maleic Anhydride --> 9,10-dihydroanthracene-9,10-a,b-succinic acid anhydride
anthracene + maleic anhydride --> 9,10-dihydroanthracene-9,10-alpha,beta-succinic acid anhydride
