Northrop F-5 Tiger II
Small and agile, the F-5 provided a tricky air-combat opponent and
was selected by the USAF and US Navy to equip their "Agressor"
training units. Like the F-5A, it was also available in a dedicated
reconnaissance version. A production run of around 325 had originally
been envisaged by the US DoD, but the final total was roughly 1,400
for more than 30 customers. Most aircraft were bulit by Northrop, but
licene-production also took place in South Korea, Switzerland, and
Taiwan.
