OBITUARY Douglas Frantz Knipfer, 63, of Reno, Nevada, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Veteran's Medical Center, Reno. Douglas was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1939. After completing his military service in the US Navy, he worked for Frontier Airlines, and later was a bartender at the Alibi Neighborhood Tavern in Reno. He was a beloved member of a large extended family. Surviving is his mother, Dolores of Kent, Wash.; his daughters, Julie Valdez (Steve) and Renee Perrin (Tom) of Surprise, Ariz.; and son, Anthony (Lisa) of Glendale, Ariz. Also surviving are his sister, Susanne Brockett (Dion); brothers, Ronald (Mary); and Dennis (Jean). He has two grandchildren in Surprise, Ariz.
