Walter Charles Rea A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hood Mortuary, 1261 East Third Ave., for Walter Charles Rea, who died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at the Valley Inn in Mancos. He was 75. Visitation will be on Saturday shortly before the service. Interment will be at Florida Cemetery in Durango. Mr. Rea was born July 27, 1927, in Falfa, Colo. to Paul S. Rea and Irene Maude Self. He married Florence M. (Bixler) Rea. He worked for Frontier Airlines as a station manager for 44 years in Durango, Alamosa and Jackson Hole, Wyo. He was a rancher for many years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a Rotary member for 20 years. He loved ranching, painting landscapes and animals and playing the harmonica. He was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by two sons, Bob Rea and Kenny Rea, both of Durango; two daughters, Marilyn Nasky of Austin, Texas, and Linda Hancock of Durango; two sisters, Joyce Craig of Durango and Virginia Snodgrass of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
