WAYNE KEGLEY The following is the obituary for my uncle who passed on just a few days ago. I don't recall when he worked for Frontier, nor does his family. They only list it as a "short time". It most likely was about 1955. (I would have been 10 years old then). Maybe someone remembers him. Wayne S. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Evangelical Church of North America in Glendive with Pastor Robert Canen officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements. Wayne was born on November 26, 1931 in Wibaux, Montana, the son of John "Joe" W. and Stella (Conner) Kegley. He moved with his family to Glendive where he was raised and educated. Wayne graduated from Dawson County High School with the class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in November of 1954. Following his discharge from the military, he worked for Frontier Airlines in Sidney for a short time before moving to Glendive where he worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years until his retirement in 1986. Wayne was united in marriage to Agnes Kalmback on October 18, 1957 in Glendive. Wayne enjoyed bowling competitively. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Atlanta Braves and Indianapolis Colts fan. He coached the V.F.W. Babe Ruth baseball team for 15 years and also coached numerous Babe Ruth All Star Teams. Wayne had a great sense of humor which he inherited from his mother. He was a devoted family man who loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their events and activities. Wayne was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Harold, Glynn and Butch. Survivors include his wife Agnes of Glendive; his two sons, Jerry Kegley and his wife Diane of Southlake, Texas and Terry Kegley and his wife Vicki of Salt Lake City, Utah; his daughter, Deb Tweet and her husband Charlie of Mandan, North Dakota; two brothers, Melvin Kegley and his wife Betty of Billings and Donald Kegley and his wife Beverly of Everett, Washington; four sisters, Grace Smith and her husband Roger, Hazel Rogers and her husband Harvey and Irene Koffler, all of Glendive and Mary Robson of Billings, Montana; five grandchildren, Brian and Eric Kegley and Andrew, Austin and Alex Tweet; numerous nieces and nephews.
