The Landing Zone

Each flight ends in the landing zone (LZ). On the training hills this is not very far away. When flying the mountains, it could be anything from the primary LZ of the site as seen below in this picture from Ellenville's main launch, to a cow pasture some 100 miles away. It's anywhere Mother Nature and you allow your glider to take you.

I will never forget my first cross country flights. The first was only 8 miles away, and the second, the very next day, was 15 miles. And to think I was able to accomplish this in the first year of my flying. Since then I've been up to 6000' and even to the base of the clouds. It just keeps getting better and better with every flight. Check out My Log Book for my latest achievements.

This is what it's all about, happy faces after every flight!
