BUD HAWPE MURIEL "BUD" HAWPE passed away Thursday, February 14, 2002. Bud was a postal worker for 19 years; retired just a few days ago (Feb. 4). He served in the Air Force 23 years and last served as major. Bud was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 18 at Brashears Funeral Chapel, Huntsville, on Highway 412 W (this side of town). Born Nov. 25, 1939, at Cement, Okla., he was the son of Alfred and Elma Hawpe. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 19 years. He was preceded in death by one son, Rocky Hawpe. Survivors include his wife, Sue Hawpe of the home; three sons, Ricky Hawpe of Albuquerque, N.M., Rory and Rod Hawpe, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Denise Adams of Seattle, Wash.; three brothers; two sisters; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad McMath and the Rev. Allen Lawson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha, Okla., with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force.
