GRAPEVINE 7/25/99 Testing a new system that doesn't display all the e-mail addresses. Recently, it was discovered that postal employees are considered employees of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. It came about when a member of our Local made a contribution to a political group in Washington, D.C. A few days ago he received his donation back with an explanatory letter. The letter stated, in part, "...we must return your contribution. The guidelines under which we operate, including the Ethics in Government Act, dictate that we cannot accept contributions from employees of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. We have been informed by the General Counsel of the Postal Service that Postal employees fall within this category. Please feel free to contact us..." So there you have it - our prestige can only increase by being considered Executive Branch employees. Fayetteville APWU 667 "Illigetimi non carborundum"
