afternoon which I may share with you concerning BMEU position testing.  Several 
of you had valid questions about the particular tests that need clarification.

Here is e-mail sent the other day to him, followed by some answers.  I 
will have the sheets Carl FAXed me posted on the bulletin boards in all 
buildings so you can understand the process better.

Several members here in Fayetteville have questions concerning Bulk 
Mail Tech job posting requirements.  (They've changed recently at national level 
and require more tests, etc.)

The main item they have questions about is POSTAL SERVICE TEST 470, 
Configuration 1 and POSTAL SERVICE TEST 714.  The bid sheet does not 
provide full description and neither can management here locally explain what 
they are.  What are these tests and what areas do they cover?

TEST BATTERY 470
Tests O/N 400, O/N 440, O/N 450, and O/N 710 (Markup Clerk, Automated) 
are now obsolete and replaced by the new test battery 470.  The new battery 
is the written test qualification requirement for all positions formerly 
requiring the obsoleted tests.

Exam 470 contains four parts (oral directons; address matching; address 
memorization; and number series).  To qualify for the Mail Processor 
positions, only two parts of the examination are scored:  oral 
directions and address matching.  For the remaining positions listed, including Markup 
Clerk, all four parts of the examination are scored.
